Before I begin any large writing project, I re-read the phenomenal book The Writer's Tale: The Final Chapter by Russell T Davies and Benjamin Cook. If you're not familiar, The Writer's Tale is a collected correspondence by the two - Cook, a writer for Doctor Who Magazine, and Davies, the showrunner for Doctor Who during the Eccleston-Tennant years. The correspondence covers the writing and production of Doctor Who series 4, Torchwood series 2, a little of The Sarah Jane Adventures and, in the expanded Final Chapter edition, the 2009 Doctor Who specials and the show's eventual hand-off to Steven Moffat.
